It’s not over yet between Sunshine Cruz and her sister-in-law. In fact, the fight has just started. Sunshine filed a libel case against sister-in-law, Maria Mercedes “Ched” Cantu. The libel case reportedly stemmed from Ched’s e-mails and Friendster account, where she allegedly published derogatory remarks against Sunshine. “Durog na tayo, inaapak-apakan pa tayo,” Sunshine said. She hired the services of lawyer Bonifacio Alentajan who filed not one but two libel cases against Ched. “Sapagkat gumawa siya ng mga publications sa Internet, gumawa siya ng masasamang bintang laban kay Sunshine, paninirang puri at anu-ano pang malalaswang description,” said Alentajan.
Ched, on the other hand, is not at all bothered. “I don’t see any reason why I should take it seriously. I am an Italian citizen and the Philippine court has no jurisdiction over me.” Sunshine reportedly feels Ched doesn’t approve of her being Cesar’s wife. “That is not true. Since Buboy made a decision to marry her, I tried my best to be her ate as well,” explained Ched.
According to Ched their rift started when Sunshine asked her mother-in-law to leave her and Cesar’s conjugal home. “Pinalayas niya yong mother ko. She was not happy to see my mother around.” Sunshine and Angela (Cesar’s daughter from his previous relationship) do not see eye to eye. Nag-away sila five years ago. They were yelling at each other. I brought Angela to Italy and she stayed for three months here. Pagbalik niya, sabi niya, Tita, wala na ang kwarto ko doon inin-vade na daw ng stepmother niya. Isa yon sa mga sama ng loob ko kay Sunshine pero di ko ipinakita sa kanya.”
As to the alleged libelous imputations in her Friendster account, Ched expained, “I don’t even remember mentioning her in my Friendster. If she is reacting to it, that is her problem.”
Is there hope for a reconciliation between her and Sunshine? “That’s a hard question. I am open naman for the sake of my brother.” Sunshine, on the other hand, said, “There was a time, some family members gusto nila.”
Also on The Buzz, Sunshine clarified that she and Cesar are not filing for annulment. “It is not true,” she said.
What’s next? We are intently watching. We promise not to blink!
No third party
Jericho Rosales denies a third party caused his break-up with Heart Evangelista, his girlfriend of three years. But rumors persist that one of the girls who allegedly caused their break-up is his leading lady in his new teleserye, Malaysian star Carmen Soo. In an exclusive interview with The Buzz, Carmen who is in town to tape episodes for the TV series, is totally clueless about how she got into the mess.
According to Carmen, she only found out about the rumors linking her to the break-up weeks ago. “Jericho explained to me because he wanted me to know what was going on because I was coming to Manila,” said Carmen. “It’s really weird. I don’t know this was happening because nobody said anything during the shoot. Suddenly, I was the cause of the break-up. I was puzzled. I was just starting to know Jericho because we are working together.”
Carmen does not deny that she gets along well with Jericho. “We have to get along well together because we are working together. And we have to develop a certain kind of friendliness and it is important to have that for the show to work.” Asked what her message for Heart was, Carmen said, “It is really between Heart and Jericho. It’s their personal issue. I have nothing to do with it. It is perhaps the timing because I am shooting with Jericho and it is easy to point at me.”
I finally saw Carmen on Boy & Kris the other day and she looks prettier in person. She’s smart and classy.
