Why Pauleen blooms these days

Yes, her character is competing for a guy’s attention  in the upcoming GMA 7 romance-comedy series Ako si Kim Sam Soon. But in real life, Pauleen Luna will never be second in the heart of boyfriend Valenzuela City Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian.

“Our relationship is very stable and we are both happy,” Pauleen dispels rumors that she and Sherwin’s relationship is on the rocks.

“And I won’t get married anytime soon. Maulan kasi kapag June. Maybe in December. Honestly, I’m not yet ready to be a bride.” It is too soon for Pauleen to walk down the aisle and exchange “I do’s” like what her character did in My Kuya’s Wedding

After all, “the night is young” and Pauleen has many dreams to fulfill. She just wants to enjoy every minute she and her boyfriend have away from work and the public’s prying eyes.

“Sherwin is very patient with me,” Pauleen explains why they remain unperturbed about the intrigues hounding their budding affair. “He has to make extra effort because I’m young and sometimes I get mad easily with little things. He is taking good care of me.”

Is Sherwin the jealous type?

“He is not,” replies Pauleen, “He is not sensitive nor  jealous of my former boyfriends. Whenever we bump into Marvin (Agustin), he even asks him (Marvin) to spend some time or dine with us.”

Pauleen and Sherwin’s happiness also comes from the trust and blessing her parents have given them from the start of their romance.

“My parents trust us so much,” says Pauleen. “Before I got into the relationship, I spoke to my parents and asked them if I could do this and that. We discussed the technicalities of the relationship. Sherwin and I have been true to our word. Kapag sinabi naman ni Sherwin na ganitong oras kami darating, dumarating naman kami on time. We follow the house rules. Kapag bawal, bawal talaga.”

It’s not surprising why Pauleen is smiling and blooming these days. That’s why many mistake that glow as the radiance of a would-be bride. The Eat, Bulaga! host is also happy at the way her career is going, especially now that the think tanks behind Renew Placenta have renewed her contract as celebrity endorser for three straight years.

She says she only uses natural products and Renew soap to maintain her alabaster beauty and fair, unblemished skin.

“We have done mall shows to inform the public that we are the original ones and reach out to them,” says Pauleen on how the soap brand recovered from the  controversy it faced a year ago against another Placenta brand endorsed by Melanie Marquez.

“She has remained nice to me (after the brouhaha),” adds Pauleen. “She is nice to me whenever she guests on Eat, Bulaga!. Nothing has changed in the way she treats me. Hindi niya ako dinamay. She even calls me baby.”

Aside from TV hosting and endorsing products, Pauleen will be seen on Ako si Kim Sam Soon starring Regine Velasquez and Mark Anthony Fernandez. She looks forward to it as televiewers will see Pauleen’s bubbly side on daytime and her mature side on primetime.

“I just want to take things in stride,” says Pauleen. “I don’t want to rush. What I want is to get enough exposure. To have a solo starrer is on every artist’s wish list but I will wait.”
