Heart now a Kapuso

Until she actually signed the two-year contract with GMA yesterday afternoon at a hurriedly-called presscon, Heart Evangelista had second thoughts about turning from Kapamilya to Kapuso.

“That’s why we kept everything confidential,” said Annabelle Rama, now Heart’s co-manager with Heart’s dad, Rey Ongpauco who witnessed the contract-signing with lawyer Felipe L. Gozon, chairman, president and CEO of GMA Network, Inc.; Jimmy R. Duavit, GMA executive vice president and COO; and Wilma Galvante, GMA senior-VP for Entertainment TV. “I have to fetch Heart to make sure that she would come,” Annabelle added with a laugh. “Baka mamaya, biglang tumakas papuntang kabila.”  

Heart never renewed her contract with ABS-CBN. She worked on a per-project basis, her last with ABS-CBN being Pangarap na Bituin. She has also cut ties with Manila Genesis which managed her for a few years. Even now that she has made peace with her parents, Heart said that she and boyfriend Jericho Rosales are okay. “He’s happy with whatever makes me happy,” said Heart.

She will be formally introduced as a Kapuso on S.O.P. this Sunday, April 27, and as the leading lady of Richard Gutierrez in his new action-adventure starrer Asero (working title), after Kamandag which is ending soon.
