A few Myles more

Myles Hernandez may have bared much skin onscreen but she still claims that people don’t know her yet privately and intimately. What you see is not what you get, says the Viva talent. Being sexy and daring is just a part of her packaging as a Hot Babe no more, no less.

“I still feel I have the privacy any ordinary person enjoys,” offers Myles. “What they see is just Myles the actress/performer. This is not who I am. It is just work to me.”

What Myles will reveal on Viva’s Pinoy Kamasutra 2 DVD/VCD, which is out in video stores, is also for the sake  of her career. But she feels pressured because the original release which topbilled  Katya Santos was a hit. Myles hopes her Kamasutra version will enjoy even half of the success Katya’s video has achieved.

“It’s not all about sex,” says Myles. “Pinoy Kamasutra gives everyone a tip or two on how to enhance relationships especially among couples. The intimate techniques are based on the Kamasutra book of India. There’s a story. Since it was my first time to get into the teachings of Kamasutra, I felt it was like educating myself. Yes, it was like educating Myles.”

In Pinoy Kamasutra 2, viewers won’t see a lady who craves for knowledge or a university professor who falls in love with his student like in the ’80s movie  Educating Rita. Everyone is introduced to a woman (Myles) who needs sexual healing as she chances upon a sensuous e-mail sender. She is bound to know the true identity of the mysterious sender and her desires. Somewhere along the way, Myles is reawakened as the wounds left by a failed relationship are healed. Myles and the e-mail sender are in for the  ride of their lives. Their pursuit of happiness is enhanced by the fire, water, earth and air elements.

“The story speaks of exploring or expanding one’s imagination,” shares Myles. “As an individual or a lover, one should not be dictated by one’s emotions and feelings sometimes. You have to take things as rational as possible.”

Which is more difficult, doing a mainstream movie or a steamy DVD/VCD?

“The latter is tougher to do,” replies Myles. “Getting intimate with someone you don’t have any feelings for at all is a challenge. As an actress, I have to make a personal connection with my co-actors to make things appear as real as they should be. The ones watching it should feel what we do or get titillated somehow.”

Pinoy Kamasutra, shares Myles, will hopefully open doors for more career opportunities. This could be that big leap that will make her veer away from sexy roles. She might be a Rufa Mae Quinto or Jaclyn Jose in the future.  Rufa and Jaclyn are examples of stars who successfully broke away from the sexy bandwagon. They eventually made names for themselves, as a comedienne and drama actress respectively.

Myles would like to try her hand in comedy. She says she is funny off camera.
