She freely speaks her mind on relevant issues ranging from politics to motherhood, from the latest fashion finds to the goings-on in the world. Whenever she speaks, she doesn’t mince her words because she knows where she’s coming from and, yes, she means well. Whenever she speaks, everybody listens.
Throughout the years, her life has been chronicled in the media, and the Filipino nation stood beside her as she courageously faced the trials and victories she went through. With dignity intact, she has defied nasty storms, hell and high water.
For all this and more, Kris Aquino has become one of the most luminous stars in the entertainment industry. Clearly, very few celebrities can equal what Kris, still the No. 1 endorser of commercial products, has achieved as a celebrity and as a person.
Today Kris comes out cleaner and fresher than ever as she speaks on things that matter to her like changes in life, motherhood and finding the ultimate partner in feminine hygiene. Life has taught her valuable lessons, and she believes that the most important one she learned so far is to embrace change with an open heart.
“I start my day by reading devotionals, either by Joyce Meyer, the Women of Faith, or Joel Osteen,” she shared. “I’ve made a consistent effort to keep my spiritual life healthy because I’ve come to realize that when I let God lead the way, and I trust in His love, things really fall into place.”
Change, she believes, is constant. That’s why she strengthens herself by maintaining a strong relationship with God.
“Life isn’t always easy or stress-free, but God just wants us to wait on His time,” she said. “When we learn to surrender, He has an easier time showering us with His blessings.”
Now that she’s a mother of two, Kris has learned to shift her priorities. “The biggest change has been the realization that work isn’t the most important aspect of my existence,” Kris said. “My husband and my two boys really need a lot of nurturing and that requires a lot of time. I’m realizing that as much joy as I derive from working, nothing comes close to being with my two sons.”
Life has been very good to this very hardworking mom. Because of this, she continues to be on top. “There have been many positive changes,” she said. “I had high expectations for Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara, (a high-rating teleserye that aired in January on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida) but I never thought it would become this big a success. Wheel of Fortune is a lot of fun, and I’m confident that the Filipino audience will really enjoy it.”
Apart from a healthy career in showbiz, Kris is also looking forward to experiencing the milestones that come with motherhood. “I’m looking forward to baby James’ first step,” she shared. “Right now, he’s already able to stand up on his own. I can’t wait for him to start talking. Josh will turn 13 in June. I can’t believe how fast my boys are growing up! That’s why for the summer, I’m purposely cutting back on work, so that I can spend as much time with the two of them as they deserve.”
Kris loves living in their new home. She used to think that she was a condo-type of person because of the convenience that living in one brings, but she became a convert when she started living in a house, with windows that open, with trees in the front yard, and a roof deck-garden.
“I’m very happy to be living in what’s finally a real home that’s ours, which we earned from our hard work,” she added.
When asked whether she still feels afraid after everything that has happened in her life, Kris admits that until now she still cringes in fear, especially when it concerns her kids.
“The only time I felt afraid was when we were bringing home baby James and I was worried about how Josh would deal with having a baby brother,” she shared. “We’ve all learned how to balance the attention between the two boys, and we make sure to shower both of them with lots of love and affirmation.”
Kris has also found a reliable partner in feminine hygiene. She started using GynePro when samples of it were sent to her during one of our tapings for Boy & Kris six months ago. “When I have my period, I use GynePro because it’s during this time of the month that I need the extra protection from feminine itching and odor,” she shared. “Unfortunately, because of my long taping hours, no matter how many times I change my sanitary napkin, there’s really a feeling of ickiness after a long day. It’s such a relief to take a hot shower and be able to wash with GynePro because not only does it smell good, I know it really does the work of protecting me from bacteria that can cause itchiness, odor and infection.”
“I know that GynePro has been clinically tested by OB-gynes and it comes from a trusted company, Unilab, so GynePro really makes me feel secure that I’m protected.”
So for all women undergoing changes in their lives, Kris shared that “Life will always bring changes, some of those changes will be difficult, but all changes can be positive for as long as we keep a good attitude, stay confident and secure, be kind to others, and keep constant communication with God.”
