“Time flies” is such a common line. But I can certainly say it over and over again.
December has finally come and Christmas is right up our doorstep. I seriously am just beginning to think of putting together a Christmas list for friends and family.
It has finally hit me: I need to get up and get going with the presents.
Giving should come with a cheerful heart, but we have to admit it is very hard to figure out what present to give some people. It can sometimes stress us out.
I guess this is also why I’ve been putting the Christmas shopping aside on my to-do list.
I have finally decided to spend Christmas here in Manila with my brother and me. We have started preparing our home for that warm, fuzzy holiday feel. I haven’t thought of what I really want this year, but always having God in my heart is probably the most important thing I can give myself before the new year begins.
I got in touch with a few celebrity friends and asked this one simple question: “What is one thing you would like for Christmas and why?”.
Here are some of their very interesting answers:
Dawn Zulueta: What I’d really want for Christmas is to spend it yearly with my younger brother George and his family here in Manila. They’ve been living in the States for more than 15 years and it’s been our dream to spend the holidays together like we used to, at the beach for the New Year as well. Now that we have kids, it makes it more important because we want them to be close as cousins.
Eric Quizon: People always say it’s difficult to buy me gifts, and that’s why, I guess, nobody gives me presents. Nobody knows this, but I’m really mababaw ang kaligayahan (very easy to please). Even receiving chocnut (candy) makes me happy already.
Sherilyn Reyes: A new SUV! I just got into an accident and it will take more than a month to fix my car.
Alessandra de Rossi: Money! Money! Money! I need that! Ha, ha, ha!
Rica Peralejo: The best gift for me would be that this one person does one of these two things: Read the Bible I’ll give him/her or come and hear service with me at least thrice.
Rufa Mae Quinto: I just want a ring! An engagement ring. Ha, ha, ha!
Kyla: Can I ask for P5-M this year? Ha, ha, ha! I really would like to invest on a business, a franchise of something maybe.
Wilma Doesnt: I want a Rolex watch because I don’t have one yet. And a father for my kids! Ha, ha, ha!
Luis Manzano: More opportunities in the industry and bigger hotels wherein tanks could fit.
Aubrey Miles: A trip around the world. I just love to travel, it makes me happy and appreciate life more.
Michael V: A really comfy bed to go with a really long Christmas break.
Cristine Reyes: I would just like something I can use. Perfume or cologne would be good, because I can use it every day.
Precious Lara Quigaman: I wish for my family to be complete again this Christmas, including my Papa who passed away. My mom is in Canada, and my siblings are in the UK. It’s just my younger brother and me here in Manila.
Andrea del Rosario: As for material things, I would want maybe a nice watch. But I’d like to be with my whole family for Christmas.
Diana Zubiri: I want peace of mind and for my family to be whole again this Christmas.
Well, now I know what to give Eric. I was telling him he might be receiving boxes and boxes of Chocnut after we publish this article. I’ll just have to make sure to wrap it up nicely.
Even though November is pretty much close with an alarming event along with a curfew, life goes on. What’s important is that no one got hurt and we can still look forward to the holidays.
Smile and have a wonderful day!
