Beauty at what price?

SIZZLING HOT - SIZZLING HOT By Juliana Palermo -
Cosmetic surgery has been around for quite some time. It seems that, as time goes by, people tend to become more open about this matter.

Before, getting the imperfections fixed shouldn’t ever be told nor admitted. I’ve always felt there’s nothing wrong with it, just as long as it’s done with good taste.

The latest fad now is to become extremely thin and almost look sick. I call it a fad because Hollywood seems to advertise such image, which is bad for younger adults.

Kids now are growing way too fast and learning too many things at a younger age. I’ve seen kids trying to dress up like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson.

It disappoints me because, clearly, black nail polish is not attractive, yet these people still continue to follow such bad examples.

Britney is no longer a teeny-bopper. She is a grown woman with children. Jessica, who sports black nail polish, is married and doing all kinds of ridiculous things that are not very pleasing to see.

My point is, people have become a whole lot more liberal nowadays, and are more open to new ideas.

Many celebrities have gotten all types of cosmetic surgery done and are not ashamed to admit it on national TV.

Apparently, young Ashlee Simpson’s attempt to compete with older sister Jessica has seen her opt for a touch of rhinoplasty to get that must-have button nose.

One lady who is no stranger to cosmetic surgery is Sharon Osbourne. She has admitted to a facelift, liposuction and a string of operations to create a perfect bust.

She says, "I don’t mind getting older, but if it all started sagging, I’d have the whole lot done again."

We need not to even mention Pamela Anderson’s never-ending breast surgery. She obviously didn’t request for natural looking ones.

Tara Reid recently had a cosmetic surgery nightmare, where she had breast implants and liposuction done.

Her breasts didn’t turn out even, while her stomach had uneven lumps from liposuction.

It was just last year that she had everything re-done, and is now very confident and happy with the way things turned out.

She says that she feels more and more beautiful each time she looks at herself in the mirror and seeing things had been done the way they should have been in the first place.

Leslie Ash’s "trout pout" was a result of collagen implants gone wrong. There are many Hollywood celebrities who are very open in discussing their cosmetic surgery.

I saw Zsa Zsa Padilla on TV, documenting her cosmetic surgery with Dr. Vicki Belo. She admits to the fact that it’s her "jaws" that begin to sag as she ages, and she’s getting them fixed.

I really appreciate celebrities like Zsa Zsa who are open to these things, and are not pretending to just look good all their lives.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and if it means getting something done to look good and feel good, go for it.

Last week, I interviewed the famous Donita Ganzon-Gold.

That interview was a very interesting one. I couldn’t help but ask about her transsexual surgery.

She says there’s got to be a psychiatric treatment before getting a sex change done.

There must be at least one year of preparation for the said procedure. "Yes, I have orgasm," Donita says when I asked her about her post-operation experience.

I’ve got a friend who is studying nursing and has explained to me how this type of surgery is done.

The first step is what they call Orchiectomy, where they first remove the patient’s testicles.

They lose male hormones and slowly get a more feminine look.

I just learned about this sex change process about two years ago, and became curious about it. I have quite a few close friends who are members of the third sex and they explained everything to me.

This process has been around ever since before I was born in 1985. It just amazes me how much technology can do.

They even got "clitoris" that comes in "different shapes and sizes," they say.

I’ve seen a fake vagina, and quite frankly, I was stunned at how real it looks!

The world of the third sex is getting larger each day and is becoming more and more interesting.

Have a great Sunday!
