Guess who came to two weekend parties

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -
Annabelle Rama’s birthday (age confidential) was on Oct. 30 but she decided to hold a dinner-party at Le Souffle in Rockwell, Makati City, on Saturday, Nov. 4, the same night Armida "Tita Midz" Siguion-Reyna (proud to be 76!) and son (director) Carlitos marked their birthdays (same date) and also hosted a joint dinner at Tita Midz’s home (equipped with an elevator because she is suffering from a bad back and can’t climb the stairs) in Forbes Park, Makati City.

So what happens when two (make it three) well-loved people invite friends (mostly from the same circle) to a weekend celebration?

Easy does it: Most of them divide their time equally (well, almost!) between the two events luckily held in venues only five-minute drive away from each other. Result: You see familiar faces in both.

At Tita Midz and Carlitos’ party, showbiz and politics happily mixed, but not so at Annabelle’s party.

But both parties ended up with a lot of singing after the guests and well-wishers had their fill from the groaning buffet tables.

At Tita Midz and Carlitos’ party, the singing was led by Bimbo Cerrudo, Isay Alvarez and husband Robert Seña, Pinky Marquez, Tita Midz’s brother Chito Ponce-Enrile and Tita Midz’s granddaughter Cris Villonco.

At Annabelle’s, the impromptu mini-concert was kicked off by Ogie Alcasid, Verni Varga and Faith Cuneta, followed by whoever wanted to dedicate a song to the celebrator.

Tita
Midz didn’t make any birthday wish and neither did Carlitos.

And Annabelle?

In jest, she said, "More money!"

Wish that her Fairy Godmother (was she around?) would grant her wish.
