Will Pops say ‘Yes, I do!’ to Jomari?

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -
"Medical bulletin" for today: If you want to be healthy, follow the simple NEW START rule – N for Nutrition, E for Exercise, W for Water, S for Sunshine, T for Temperance, A for Air, R for Rest and Recreation and T for Trust in God. This simple rule was relayed to Funfare by Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s PR manager Charisse Chuidian who said that its advocate is Dr. Lorraine Day. Added Charisse, "Don’t forget Joyful Attitude and Benevolence."

If Martin Nievera can be happy, why can’t his ex-wife Pops Fernandez?

If Martin can have a baby with his girlfriend Katrina Ojeda (due to deliver a boy named Santino in November in Las Vegas where she is based), why can’t Pops have one by boyfriend Jomari Yllana (whose ex-wife Aiko Melendez delivered her first child with husband Martin Jickain last July 28)?

But first, Pops will have to marry Jomari before they can have a baby and not the other way around.

The good news is that if and when Jomari proposes to Pops tonight when she hosts an "intimate" birthday party for him, she will definitely say "Yes, I will!" and proceed to say "Yes, I do!" during their church wedding (the second for both).

This piece of good news was relayed to Funfare by Pops’ unnamed fan, accompanied by the undated photo that goes with this story. Funfare wishes to thank the Pops fan for this "scoop."

"Pops is madly in love with Jomari," the unnamed fan told Funfare. "She promises that Jomari will be the last man in her life."

I wonder, could the fan be the same person sending me the ascerbic e-mail (in reaction to my piece criticizing Pops for doing that "bold" pictorial for FHM magazine)? Thanks for those bile words, too, and may God bless you!

Masahista
wins Interfaith Award at Brisbane Filmfest

Brillante Mendoza’s Masahista (The Masseur) has won another international award, this time an Interfaith Award at the 15th Brisbane International Film Festival in Australia held July 21 to Aug. 13.

According to Funfare correspondent Ferdy Lapuz, the award is for the film that promotes "humanitarian values."

More from Ferdy:

The inspiration for the BIFF Interfaith Award was drawn from the first Interfaith Jury convened at the 2003 Tehran Film Festival by Fr. Peter Malone, president of SIGNIS, the World Catholic Association for Communication which organizes ecumenical juries to judge films on criteria that take into account the films’ artistic qualities and the human, social and spiritual values that they express.

Masahista bested 10 films. Other Filipino films shown at the Brisbane Filmfest were Auraeus Solito’s Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros, Laurice Guillen’s Santa Santita and John Torres’ Todo Todo Peros.

After marrying Robert, Aludia modeled at malls in Pennsylvania and Florida for Fashion Bug.
Mr. Fu takes over Tulfo brothers’ RPN timeslot
In case you haven’t noticed, Erwin Tulfo has been out of the RPN 9 late-afternoon newscast Aksyon Balita (with Aljo Bendijo and Connie Sison as co-anchors) since two weeks ago after the announcement of the axing of his Isumbong Mo show (also on RPN 9, with brothers Ramon, Raffy and Ben) which had its last telecast Saturday last week.

Taking over the Isumbong Mo timeslot effective tomorrow, Aug. 19, starting at 6 p.m., is Just For Laughs, hosted by Mr. Fu. Just For Laughs is the local version of the popular Canadian gag/practical-jokes show, jazzed up by Mr. Fu’s comic hosting style.

"Prepare to laugh till you drop," warns Mr. Fu.
