Losing weight the easy way

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda -
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so goes a saying.

In Japan where the old traditional sport sumo is popular, wrestlers are fed heavily and can weigh as much as 580 pounds. Seeing two heavyweights wrestling in an arena just slightly bigger than their tummies may be unsightly to some people. But to others, it is art, sport and religion rolled into one.

Sumo wrestlers are not just heavy on food. They are trained athletes. And training is harsh, hard and harrowing. A would-be sumo wrestler is confined to a stable where wrestlers are trained to be champions. He attends compulsory education, does physical work and even dirty work required at the stable. And since a retired wrestler mentors the younger ones, the young wrestler is subject to the whims and caprices of the trainors. Sumo wrestlers are disciplined. They don’t stay up late at night. They sleep early because sleeping early with a full stomach means you will have to grow the extra mass.

In the olden times, sumo wrestling was a form of ritual. Some say it was used as a method to resolve conflicts. Issues were decided by might, meaning if someone wins in the sumo wrestling, even if he happens to be on the wrong side, he wins. A wrestler loses if he is forced out of the wrestling ring which is about 15 feet in diameter. I do not know if this is a fair solution to conflicts, but sumo must have had its own rewards. Was it fair? I don’t think so. But that’s the way it was.

Sumo is a beautiful sport. It’s not just a physical game. Sumo matches are offered to gods for a good harvest. Just like when we do our Pahiyas (in Lucban, Quezon), which is celebrated annually as thanksgiving for a good harvest.

For sumo wrestlers, there is no way to be skinny. There is no way for them to slow down on food or go on a diet. This means slimming salons, diet pills and weight reducing tablets have no place in their lives.

Certainly, each has his own definition of what is beautiful. Every person has his own uniqueness. Why do athletes known to be physically fit still indulge in vitamins, food supplements and the like? And why do we have to be beautiful? Do we really have to rationalize beauty? Or is it really relative? Conversely, I see no reason not to be beautiful. When you’re in the business of show, don’t you think you owe it to the public to be pleasant and stay healthy as well?

There are a thousand and one food supplements sold in the market. There are also hundreds of diet pills that purport to make you look reed thin. Even the ordinary coconut oil which for ages has been used as lotion, moisturizing cream and conditioner, among others, is now marketed as something with miraculous benefits.

But one product in the slimming department really stands out. It is called Xando Block and Burn. Xando was developed in Norway and is a clinically-proven weight reduction formula. Xando is tailor-made for people with modern lifestyles. It is proven to block carbohydrates, starch and sugar as well as the conversion of excess carbohydrates in our body.

For people who have been trying to lose weight without having to skip their regular meals, Xando is a perfect formula. My daily food intake is rich in carbohydrates. Anybody who grew up in the province will agree with me. I have been wanting to lose weight the easy way. But I cannot miss my meals. Playing tennis or badminton has helped me but nothing beats the effect of Xando in my weight loss.

Xando is made from extracts of kidney beans, mangosteen fruit and herbs. It was developed by scientists Dr. Erling Torm and Nils Chr. Mortensen. Xando is in tablet form (oval shaped with white specks) and is safe to use with minimal side effects.

I take Xando before meals. I also consume more than eight glasses of water, which is good when you take Xando. Water has its calming, cleansing effects. But if you really want to stay beautiful and happy with your weight, take Xando and don’t turn back. So far, in my almost two months use of Xando, I already lost eight pounds.
