Graduation season is also for women

SIZZLING HOT - SIZZLING HOT By Juliana Palermo -
March is officially the opening month of the party season of the year.

This is the month everyone’s been waiting for, where they graduate and get an inch closer to fulfilling their dreams.

After studying for such a long time, graduating is one of the best things in life. Parents are usually the ones who work hard to make these things happen, and in most cases, mothers are the ones who are more active when it comes to school matters.

This is probably why we also celebrate Women’s Month this March.

I think, however, that ours should be a different kind of educational system and that we should change the schedule of the school year. In the US, there are three school schedules to choose from throughout the year. This system just makes a lot more sense, since the students don’t have to be all in one room at the same time. This means there will be students attending school all throughout the year.

This will make things easier for everyone, especially the parents. Don’t you think so?

Anyway, March is definitely one of the happiest months of the year. Earning that diploma after so many years of hard work is the greatest gift one can give to one’s parents.

Graduating doesn’t necessarily mean the end of learning and studying. It just shows that we value all the years we spent working hard on our studies.

Waking up everyday is just like going to school. It’s just a matter of setting our own schedule. Just like what I’ve said, the rising of the sun is the only thing consistent in this world.

This reminds us that everyday is a new day to learn new things you can apply for the following day’s lesson.

Life is an ongoing learning process. I always thank God for every single trial I face everyday, because I know this will make me stronger and wiser in days to come.

It’s like going to school. The only way you can solve something is if you’ve learned the first few chapters of a book.

There’s no such thing as skipping lessons. It just won’t work. And this holds true even after you graduate.

Graduating is simply a change of lifestyle. It mainly represents hard work.

The women in our lives play a big part in this. This is the perfect time to show appreciation to these women who usually wake up early and prepare everything for us.

Women, in general, should be appreciated for making a "home" out of our house. It’s a different feeling when you have your mom around taking care of the house.

It has always been the woman’s job to make sure everything is in place when it comes to all the little things that happen in life.

Nowadays, it’s rare to find the typical "homemaker." Women have stepped up. They wear the pants in the house.

They wake up early to make breakfast, work all day, come home on time to make dinner.

Women have learned to be strong and step up to their responsibilities. They no longer stay home the whole day and walk barefoot, pregnant.

These strong women deserve, not just one month, but a whole year of appreciation for doing all things for their children.

I’d like to congratulate those who have children graduating this month. This is not just the students’ accomplishments, it’s also the parents’.

Speaking of Women’s Month, the cast of QTV 11’s Laugh to Laugh, including me, will be at SM Megamall tonight at 7 to celebrate the occasion.

I will also perform at Zirkoh Greenhills this Wednesday (March 29) for the show of D’ Freemales, the dance group managed by good-hearted beauty expert Bambbi Fuentes.

Please do watch it. God bless!
