2005 was a banner year for Ryan Agoncillo. He not only finished working on his first ever local film where he played one of the lead stars in Kutob, he earned a lot of good reviews from it, too.
Ryan has further carved his place in the industry by winning the KBP Golden Dove Award as Best Television Talk Magazine Show Host for Y Speak Live on Studio 23. The show also bagged the "Anak TV Seal Award" from the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and Television which honored Ryan as one of the 10 most admired male personalities on TV today.
He has been tapped to give youthful appeal to the reformatted Magandang Umaga Pilipinas. Viewers also saw Ryan wrap up work for his first teleserye Krystala last year and how he has since become the partner of Judy Ann Santos.
Ryan and Judy Ann also starred in the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode Rosaryo and guested on Homeboy, ASAP and The Buzz.
Last year too, Ryan has become active in photography, and has done the photo shoot for a couple of billboards, album covers (Ely Buendias new band Pupil and Velcro) and publicity pictures.
On top of his showbiz commitments, he also oversees a bar called 6 Underground in Makati which proves that this guy knows what he wants and works hard for it.
After the Krystala stint, Ryan has been looking forward to being part of a sitcom. "Im a truly funny and fun-loving person. I was happy being part of Whattamen before. I hope I would be given the chance to show this funny side of me," he says.
He is also set on doing a film directed by Joey Reyes with Judy Ann. "Its our gift to our fans so I hope it pushes through," adds Ryan.
On the hosting front, Ryan hopes to get more significant hosting chores as he follows in the footsteps of his idols, Martin Nievera and Edu Manzano. Their David Letterman-like type of wacky yet substantial hosting is what Ryan hopes to do.
