When a lot of things is stressing me out, watching a movie is therapy for me.
Before I entered high school, I researched a bit on high school kids.
The first movie I watched for my research was Clueless. Yes, Clueless, because I was probably the most clueless kid entering high school at that time.
I had no idea how to dress or act around other kids. I found that movie very amusing. I actually ended up following how the actors dressed up.
Alicia Silverstone, who played Cher in the movie, was my favorite character. I could say Im a lot like her, psychologically that is. I adore her.
Shes very charming, isnt she?
During my high school years, going to the movies was only something I did on days when Id skip school. You know, those times when youd skip school for a double date then come home and forget what movie you saw because you were too busy enjoying the holding hands more than the movie. Not to mention getting grounded for it for two weeks when you get busted. Oh, that was fun!
I can still remember when my stepfather used to take me to rent films at the store and I would always pick horror films.
He hated it. He used to tell me how he thinks its so foolish for someone to spend money on movies to scare themselves. I just laughed at him and he ended up picking a movie for me so that we can watch together.
Its nice being a kid and having someone make decisions for you. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to high school.
Watching movies is just not the same when you have all the freedom you want.
When I got back here, I started getting interested in watching those Asian horror films like The Ring, The Ring 2, The Phone, One Missed Call and others.
You have to admit these films may be cheesy, but they sure do a pretty good job scaring the heck out of you in the theaters.
I noticed that most of them dont really have much of an interesting story in it.
Its all about momoos coming out when you least expect them to. I think its fun catching one of those once in a while.
Most of last year, I didnt really watch any films.
It was just this year when I started watching movies again.
Recently, I saw If Only, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt.
That movie was awesome. It made me realize a lot of things. I found it boring during its first half hour because of the English accent.
Im really not much of a fan of these kinds of movies. Plain Californian or American English would do for me.
After the first half hour, I began to understand the story. If youve seen it, you would know what Im talking about. If you havent, its about time you do.
I dont want to go into details about it, but I suggest you watch it with a loved one or better yet, your partner. This movie really has sense, trust me.
Another film I enjoyed was the other Jennifer Love Hewitt movie, Truth About Love. Now, this is a fun movie. I didnt find much to learn about it because the tricks she used just wouldnt pass nowadays, especially in our "textmate gimmick" country. But that was quite a funny and familiar story.
A recent film I learned a lot from was Hitch. I bet a lot of guys enjoyed that movie. I doubt if any of those "rules" would take effect now that its been exposed!
If you havent seen it, you have to catch it. Believe me guys, theres a lot of knowledge for you in store in this film.
You also have got to check out Eva Mendez. She looks really good with Will Smith, dont you think? I really think shes a hottie.
So far, these are the few films that got my attention these past couple of months. If you guys get to watch some good flicks, feel free to e-mail (julianapalermo785@yahoo.com) me about it. Ciao!
