A bonding experience with Aubrey

Television is everyones favorite past-time. Havent you noticed that people dont hesitate to stop and even stand for hours when there are demos of anything that involves TV or celebrities?
The funniest thing Ive noticed is, when they show movies for a TV demo, a huge crowd would just stand there, trying to finish the whole movie!
I find it very amusing. And Im really glad to be on TV, which Pinoys just love to watch.
Filipinos are not hard to please because everyone just loves to smile.
Setting TV aside, I came across a calendar that had Diana Zubiri, Aubrey Miles, and Maui Taylor on it sometime 2002.
I obviously had no idea who they were so I flipped through it and checked out the pages. I didnt think I would actually end up sharing the same manager with Diana and becoming good friends with her. Neither did I imagine Ill end up having the other girls as friends.
Just recently, I finally got the chance to know a very friendly and down-to-earth chick, Aubrey Miles.
This girl has always stuck out her neck for me even way before I started showbiz. Finally, after two years in the business, I got to work with her in Lisensyadong Kamao.
I wouldnt deny Aubrey has a mataray and "hard-to-approach" look. But looks can be very deceiving.
On my first shooting day, as Ive written before, my assistant forgot to bring my box of clothes. Yes, my whole box of clothes! As in everything. When I got to the set in Batangas, Aubrey was already there.
I totally panicked and couldnt even think of how in the world I can get my clothes there. I quickly approached Aubrey, said hi, and went straight to asking her if she would lend me her clothes!
It was so embarrassing, but I had no choice. Good thing she was nice to offer me some of the clothes she brought.
Unfortunately, Aubreys clothes didnt fit my character. So there was no way I could really wear them. That was what opened the door for short chitchats between us.
When I asked my driver to get some stuff, I ended up eating just right outside at the tables. Aubrey suggested that I stay inside her van because it was really hot outside.
That was when I realized that behind her serious face is a nice girl. Talking to her is very relaxing. Shes very straightforward and easy to talk to. Aubrey and I talked about our opinions on many things.
You dont have to read between the lines when it comes to her.
Despite all the issues shes been through, Aubrey has kept her head well above water.
She seems to be very strong and knows exactly what she wants. When I asked her about the "having a child" issue, she simply said everyone has a right to keep or expose whatever he/she wants in life.
Just because shes in showbiz doesnt mean Aubreys life must be an open book. I think things that dont affect our (as entertainers) performance should be kept under wraps.
The bottomline though, is we have full control of our personal lives. Only we can decide whether parts of our lives will be exposed to the public or not.
Aubrey is now in a little-more-than-a-year relationship. Shes very happy to have ended up with Troy Montero, whom she has been seen with for the past five years.
Troy used to court one of Aubreys neighbors. The first time she saw him out the window, Aubrey just said, " Thats my dream guy. I hope one day hell be my boyfriend." Isnt that cute?!
Five years later, they end up together. Wow! It must be very hard maintaining a relationship in the limelight. But they seem to be doing quite all right.
All I can say to Aubrey is good luck. You go, girl!
