The young entrepreneur & the TV Idols
August 1, 2005 | 12:00am
It was easy for the TV Idols to get along with Enrico Roque, a 32-year-old businessman who is like a barkada to them. Ahron Villena, AJ Dee, Kiko Matos, JE Sison and Mark Cortez call him "Tito Aga" since he owns the newly-established chain of chicken and burger food corner in Metro Manila and suburbs.
Enrico was looking for young, vibrant and energetic teens to be the endorser of Tito Agas Food Corner when Cristy Fermin suggested the team of TV Idols and the next is history. Even during the pictorial for the tarpaulins and posters for the product, its as if Enrico is really an uncle to the five makukulit TV Idols.
They even compare Enrico to the leading men in Koreanovelas, since he doesnt only look like the Koreanovela bidas, but also possesses a good heart and a strong character.
The eldest in a brood of two, Enrico learned responsibility at a young age after his parents separated. Today, his dad and his half-brothers work for some of Tito Agas 20 branches.
Enrico refuses to be called "Boss" by any of his employees, mostly undergraduates who cannot find a regular job elsewhere because of their inadequate educational credentials. Hed rather be called Kuya.
"I want to help others by giving them jobs," explains Enrico.
Enrico himself has been tapped to be an image model for National Star Appliances, and soon the National Star billboard will be seen along EDSA. He was also offered to be an image model for a chain of salons but this is still under negotiation.
His biggest crush in showbiz is Kristine Hermosa. For him, it will be a dream come true to have a project with Kristine.
Enrico has had his share of painful experiences. "I once pleaded to the owner of the lot in front of our house to please give us right of way, but he declined. Lahat ng panggigipit ginawa sa amin. Several years after that incident, when I bought a lot through a bank, I was surprised to find out mismong ang loteng pag-aari ng umapi sa amin ang nabili ko."
He inspires young people to study and work harder. Even the TV Idols look up to him and idolizes Enrico Roque for being a successful entrepreneur at a young age.
