Jeremiah Rosales: After you, Jericho!

Jeremiah Rosales is the younger brother of Jericho Rosales, one of the most bankable stars of his generation, both in terms of talent and box-office.

Jeremiah is a member of Star Circle Magic Batch 13. He wants to follow in the footsteps of his kuya.

But Jeremiah is painfully learning that it’s not so easy to get into kuya’s business. Sometimes, it’s not just about knowing how to dance, sing or act. It’s about being a public figure and the price one pays for fame.

Jeremiah is also discovering that kuya’s world is not all glitter, fireworks and confetti. It can be hostile where predators rule. Like, it’s not supposed to be anybody’s business that at 15, he met 15-year-old Jane Ethel Gonowan and they fell in love with one another. At 17, in 2002, he fathered Ethel’s baby. Too young to be a father, he got lost, according to Ethel. But Jeremiah was back when their first baby was seven months old. And again, Ethel became pregnant with their second baby.

Life must be hard for very young parents who are not emotionally and financially capable of having a family. Ethel and Jeremiah are not exception.

So now that Jeremiah wants to try kuya’s industry, he is starting to discover that he cannot just set aside his past because it can haunt him. That’s exactly what happened when Ethel decided to come out on television to ask Jeremiah for the support of their children. Ethel realized that her television appearance may be destructive to Jeremiah’s fledgling career but she’s left with very few choices as she is raising two children. She wants Jeremiah to know that what he is giving her right now is not enough. But Ethel understands that Jeremiah is not raking in big bucks right now, because he just barely started. And when you are starting in this business, sometimes, you spend more than you earn.

So this puts the two in an extremely difficult — even scary situation. Because Ethel’s public outcry might affect in many ways the chances of Jeremiah’s making it in showbiz. And if it does, Jeremiah wouldn’t be able to give her children the financial support she is asking from him.

But the good news is that Ethel and Jeremiah have already met and have signed a written agreement that Jeremiah will give his children regular financial support. And Jeremiah will have the chance to spend time with his children.

And unlike young upstarts, Jeremiah faced this controversy head-on. It started as a blind item — that unfairly used Echo as a point of reference, "kapatid ng isang sikat na hunk at miyembro ng isang kalo-launch lang na group ng mga batang artista."

Jeremiah didn’t cry and run away. He didn’t hide behind kuya’s name. He came out on The Buzz to admit that yes, he was the one being referred to in the blind item. And he did not deny Ethel‘s claims. He apologized to his kids and said that he will do the best he can to support them.

Jeremiah is a brave, honest young man. People should give him a chance. When asked what lesson he learned from this experience, he replied. "Huwag padalos-dalos sa mga desisyon sa buhay."

Young people should listen to Jeremiah. He knows from where he speaks of.

Just when you thought that camera functionality in mobile phones was nothing more than a joke, given the poor image quality this feature yields, now come the Sony Ericsson K750i boasting of not just latest technology in wireless communications but also packing a two-megapixel camera with auto-focus and built-in flash — plus whole lot more!

Improving on the aesthetics of its best-selling predecessor, the K700i, the K750i is fashionably sleek and sexy, and exuding a cool classicism with its understated black-and-silver color scheme. Inside the K750i, however, is technology that makes life a lot easier and more fun: blue tooth and infrared for short-range connectivity, GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz network support, HSCSD and GPRS connectivity, Java compatibility plus advanced contracts in a user interface that is gorgeously rendered in the richest colors that shimmer and sparkle on a vibrant 262K color screen.

The centerpiece of the new K750i is its excellent two-megapixel camera which you can use to snap fantastic shots of those special unexpected moments — definitely worth of having them printed out and added to your photo album. You can also capture videos with the two-megapixel camera and share them with family and friends via MMS or transfer them to a PC for that autobiographical video CD project you’ve been mulling over.

On top of its excellent capabilities, Sony Ericsson’s latest handset is also a solid advanced jukebox with a graphic equalizer and playlist support. Just transfer your favorite MP3 music files into the Memory Stick Pro Duo card (the unit comes with a 64MB card), plug in the sound optimizing hands-free headset and you’re good to go. The K750i also packs in an FM radio tuner with channel preset functionality.

Indeed, with the fabulous Sony Ericcson K750i, "multimedia" in wireless communication has ceased to be buzzword.
