Fall in love again with Jaya

Several years filled with life-changing experiences have gone by since Jaya recorded her last album Unleashed. That meant the loss of a good number of hit songs to the local music industry for until her hiatus from recording albums, Jaya was dominating the charts with one big seller after another. Think Dahil Tanging Ikaw, Wala Na Bang Pag-ibig, Laging Naro’n Ka, Dahil Ba Sa Kanya, Hanggang Ngayon, Ika’y Mahal, that stirring duet of Sana’y Maulit Muli with Regine Velasquez and other hits.

Truth to tell, she was gone for so long that several newcomers have already laid claim to Jaya’s soul music turf although not one of them measures up to the standards she set. It is not likely that they will, sometime soon, for Jaya is back and raring to make more hits. She was finally able to set things right a year ago and now that the old turmoils have subsided, she has decided to return to recording.

I honestly believe this is that part of her career she loves most. Although being the daughter of the legendary Elizabeth Ramsey has made her heiress to a career as an entertainer, Jaya was actually first discovered as a recording artist. In fact, she was the first Filipino to make the Billboard charts and that says a lot about her capabilities.

Well, she is back to being one again with a new album titled Fall In Love Again… Yes, she admits she is "in love again" and that her supportive boyfriend is the reason why she is in a go-go mood about her singing again. Friends, old and new came out in full force to help Jaya put the album together. One of these is Ogie Alcasid, who composed and produced Ako’y Sa ‘yo, Maging Akin Ka Lamang and their duet of Bakit ‘Di Mo Sabihin. Another one is Vehnee Saturno, who wrote and produced most of Jaya’s early hits. His contributions are Pagkukunwari and Di Na Ba Kita Mapipigilan, which is the album’s first single release.

The other songs in Jaya’s Fall In Love Again… are the George Canseco standard Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo, The Answer is Love, Night and Day, Stay True, Sa Duyan ng Pag-ibig by Willy Cruz, the Visayan classic Matud Nila produced by Jay Durias of South Border and covers of sentimental pop oldies like Look What You’ve Done to Me and I Just Fall in Love Again.
