After the numerous grueling stunts, tiring dance steps and heart-breaking goodbyes, the 10,000 dance idol wannabes in the first-ever dance reality show in the Philippines has trimmed down to only four hopefuls. Today is judgment day, live at the Aliw Theater. Who will be the first Stardance Idol of the land?
Stardance presents the top four contenders who danced their way to the top and is now deserving of the title Stardance Ultimate Four. Meet Daniel Cabrera, Froilan Dabalus, Ryan Sabaybay and Jhoey Zulueta.
Daniel Cabrera is the groups "dancer cum thespian," being a member of the dance group L Crew and a musical theater teacher for kids. A PSBA Marketing Management graduate, Daniel is the youngest of four siblings, with stepbrothers from his fathers side. Only after he joined Stardance did he get close to his relatives and now appreciates the time he spends with them, regretting moments they have wasted before. He now considers his family his inspiration to clinch the title Stardance Idol of the Philippines.
Froilan Dabalus is considered the "heartthrob" material among the contestants because of the numerous following he has. His fans even set up a yahoo group to give out information about their idol and printed out pins with Froilans face on them to officially recognize the person as a member of the "Froilan Fan Club." A freshman nursing student of San Juan De Dios, Froilan almost quit dancing to just pursue his studies. But dancing is his passion, and he finds it hard to give it up especially since the right opportunity for him has come along. With the support of his mom, a singer who never pushed through with her dreams, Froilan gracefully moves his way up to the Ultimate Four.
Mayor Vilma Santos bet hails from her turf, Lipa City. Ryan Sabaybay is the son of a mechanic and a homemaker. He joined Stardance to help his family financially. He even wanted to become a dancer in Japan to earn more money. Ryan is also active as a member of a performing arts group called Lipa Integrated Performing Arts and the UB Dance Company.
Davaoeño Jhoey Zulueta had long been wishing to go to Manila and even asked a sign from God to affirm his wish. As fate would have it, the Stardance audition plug aired the following day. He borrowed money from his relatives but was refused because they lacked faith in him. Fortunately, a kind-hearted neighbor took a chance on Jhoey and gave him the money he needed. Now, hes gone a long way after easing out 10,000 other dancers all over the country and finally being part of the Ultimate Four.
