Jackielou sets health and fitness workshops

If one were to ask Jackielou Blanco what would be the greatest surprise in her life, there would probably be two occasions tying for First Place. One would be the surprise wedding at a Quezon City judges sala a decade ago, when all she knew was that she was off to meet Ricky Davao for a meal somewhere. The other would be the way her life changed after winning the Mr. and Ms. Great Bodies competition in 2001.
As an actress in the movies, television, and stage, Jackielou has won the respect of her peers and won plaudits and awards for her performances. A mother of three, she has also been accorded many an Ulirang Ina award from various organizations.
However, all these have been eclipsed by her gaining the unofficial title of "Fitness Guru" after her winning the competition. Invitations started pouring in to grace this and that health and fitness event and she has been asked to endorse products synonymous with healthy living. In addition, she has been asked to give exercise and fitness demonstration is part of GMA 7s Unang Hirit giving tips on how to say healthy, writes a fitness and health column for the Philippine STAR, and has released two exercise videos produced by Viva Video.
For the first time, Jackielou will be conducting her first workshop on fitness and health Fitness in the Home Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11, 9 to 11 a.m. Nicotina Garden Pavillion, Roxas Blvd. Service road, beside Department of Foreign Affairs. Presented by SNACK Arts the workshop is open to male and female 13 years old and above. It will tackle exercise that can be done at home without the need for gym equipment, and without going to the gym.
Under the supervision of veteran journalist/talent manager Bibsy Carballo, SNACK Arts (Summer Nature & Arts Camp for Kids) which successful pioneered in week-long out-of-town summer camps for kids has now branched out short primers for teenagers with the recently concluded Divo at Diva voice workshop, and Preparing for a Beauty Pageant conducted by Alma Concepcion
Registration is limited to a maximum of 15 participants.
