Billboards

Billboards and print ads are scattered everywhere. The ones that are, I guess, the most popular are those along EDSA.

It’s not everyday that you get an offer to have a billboard along that strip.

I think it’s a privilege to have a billboard, especially along EDSA. It’s just a nice feeling knowing that people see a good picture of you every time they pass by.

Last Friday was unforgettable for me. Diana Zubiri, a good friend of mine, celebrated her birthday that day.

She is one of the luckiest girls I’ve met in showbiz. I’ve known her for about two years now and have also seen her grow.

She and I share the same manager, so we often get to work together. Diana is currently endorsing Sabato shoes. She has a billboard near the corner of Ortigas Avenue and EDSA.

We decided to go up to the top of the building to take pictures of it.

Even though it was a bit hard taking a picture of it up-close with Diana next to it, because it’s so huge, it was still such a neat idea!

The people in the building were so surprised to find us asking for permission to go to the rooftop because we just popped out of nowhere.

After we took pictures, I asked her what she was doing for her birthday.

Apparently, she decided not to have a party like she did last year. This year, she wanted to save money to make one of her biggest dreams come true.

She must be enjoying this time of her life; everything is going just the way she wants it. She’s single, beautiful, and successful. Who could ask for more?

Not to mention her sweet and funky personality. Diana, we wish you a very happy birthday and more success in the years to come.

When Diana and me separated, my day turned into night because the day before that, a friend and I had a small disagreement.

My friend definitely managed to turn that hot summer day into a cold winter night.

So, I decided to just drive home and maybe sleep it off. Traffic was so bad. I couldn’t think straight. It seemed as if everything happened all so fast.

I took EDSA on my way home and unconsciously missed my turn. The next thing I knew was that I was already on my way to SM North EDSA. I was so out of it.

And so I made a U-turn and as soon as I passed GMA 7, I saw the billboard of Tito Ricky Lo and Ate Melanie Marquez for their new talkshow, Showbiz Stripped.

I felt a little at ease to see them because they’ve really helped me a lot by believing in me. I feel so honored that Tito Ricky believed enough to have given me the chance to write for this paper.

Ate
Melanie, on the other hand, is the one who always encourages me to join a beauty pageant.

She would always tell me that I’d do well in it. I thank them so much for supporting me. It was so nice to see them together in one billboard.

I couldn’t help but take photos of it in the middle of traffic. Good thing someone was there to help me with that.

Honestly, one of my frustrations is that I didn’t even get to take a picture next to my billboard for Bench when it was still up.

At the end of the day, I’d like to officially call this the "emotional roller coaster day of the year" for me.

More power to three people who are close to me, Diana, Tito Ricky, and Ate Melanie.
