Just as it was a festival of films, the recent Metro Manila Film Festival was also a start fest as some of the countrys hottest screen celebrities dazzled at the premieres of their films at the SM Megamall and Podium cinemas.
All eight movie entries had their advance screenings at the mentioned cinemas, and fans had a chance to meet not only their favorite stars, but also political figures like former President Corazon Aquino, Sen. Ralph Recto and former Sen. Loren Legarda.
The premiere of Mano Po 3, My Love was attended by Lipa Mayor Vilma Santos, Christopher de Leon, and Boots Anson Roa. Karylle, John Prats, Patrick Garcia, Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban also added glitter to the event.
So Happy Togethers advance screening, on the other hand, was truly a happy event topbilled by Kris Aquino, Eric Quizon, Jay-R, Paolo Paraiso, and Mark Herras. Former President Corazon Aquino was there to support Kris, as was Mother Lily Monteverde, the movies producer.
Cesar Montano and Juliana Palermo made fans swoon during the premiere of the Visayan movie Panaghoy sa Suba; while the cast of Aishite Imasu led by Raymart Santiago, Angelu de Leon, Jay Manalo and Dennis Trillo attended a full house premiere.
Mallers were similarly thrilled at the advance screenings of the thriller entries at the film fest. These included preems of the ouija-board based Spirit of the Glass with the stellar cast of Dingdong Dantes, Rica Peralejo, Marvin Agustin, Paolo Contis, Alessandra de Rossi, Jake Cuenca, and Jay Aquitana; as well as that of the thriller Sigaw with Richard Gutierrez, Angel Locsin, James Blanco and Iza Calzado.
There were lots of fun and laughter during the advance screenings of the comedy entries. Enteng Kabisotes preem had the cast in full force including Vic Sotto, Kristine Hermosa, Oyo Boy Sotto, Bing Loyzaga, G. Tongi, Epi Quizon, Michael V., Ruby Rodriguez, Leila Kuzma, Aiza Seguerra and Nadine Samonte. Mars Ravelos Lastikman, on the other hand, had Mark Bautista and Sarah Geronimo together with Vanna Garcia and Danilo Barrios at the preem.
