A first for Rachelle Ann

-
Last March, 17-year-old Rachelle Ann Go was one of 10 hopefuls included in the finals of the television talent show, Search for a Star. The San Beda College student won the grand prize of P1 million and a contract with Viva Entertainment. What followed was a roller coaster ride of singing appearances that culminated with her joining the winners of other singing competitions in the sold-out concert Night of the Champions at the Araneta Coliseum last July 3.

Last July 27, Rachelle braced herself for another big event. Her debut album simply titled Rachelle Ann Go hit the music stores nationwide. It brought to fruition the many hours she spent in singing lessons as a child and her experiences in singing contests. It also symbolizes the fulfillment of her dream to become a singing star. The day of the champion has indeed arrived.

Rachelle Ann Go
is a 13-track package of beautiful songs performed by today’s hottest singing discovery. Rachelle’s voice soars to great heights with every cut. Produced by Eugene Villaluz alongside some of the most talented names in the local music business, the result is an album that music lovers and anybody who appreciates good music can enjoy playing over and over again.

When You Find Your Voice
, an inspiring original, opens the album. Hitmaker Vehnee Saturno contributes From the Start and Stay in Love with You. Kung Alam Mo Lang, the only Tagalog song in the album comes from Arthur Madrigal. Melvin Morallos came up with Love Won’t Let Us Be. Jimmy Antiporda composed, arranged and produced two songs, the R&B ballad Here I Am Again and the hip hop dance track, Give It All.

Rachelle Ann interprets some old favorites in her own style. Heading this part of the album is her cover of South Border’s Love of My Life, which was composed, arranged and produced by Jay Durias. She also performs two compositions by the late Peter Allen, Don’t Cry Out Loud and We Wanted It All, where she duets with another hot young singer, Christian Bautista. The others included are Dreaming of You, by Selena, Solitaire by Neil Sedaka and Rachelle Ann’s Search for a Star winning piece, Through the Rain.

Catch Rachelle Ann perform the songs from her album during her mall tour. She is scheduled to visit SM Fairview today; SM Dasmariñas on Aug. 8; SM Bicutan on Aug. 15; SM Centerpoint on Aug. 21; SM Manila on Aug. 22; SM Sucat on Aug. 29; SM North EDSA on Sept. 4; and SM Bacoor on Sept. 5. She is set to join the repeat performance of Night of the Champions at the Big Dome on Friday, Aug. 13 and the US tour of the same show this September. She is also seen regularly in the Fan-atic portion of the ABS-CBN variety show ASAP every Sunday.
