February 27, 2004 | 12:00am
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Philippine Montessori Center, the school will hold a concert entitled Thank G*! (G for God, good breaks, great times, gift of music and Gary Valenciano.) The concert is set tomorrow at 7 p.m., AFP Theater, Camp Aguinaldo, Q.C.
"Gary is the perfect choice because aside from being a total entertainer, we see him as a model parent. He is a good artist and a devoted father," says Iluminada Woellhaf, the schools Directress. Guesting with Gary V. are Jamie Rivera and Tricia Amper-Jimenez.
The PMC Childrens Instrumental Ensemble will perform classic pieces Eine Kleine Nacht Musik and Toreador from Carmen, plus a medley of songs from Walt Disney movies. They will have a number with a singing group from Smokey Mountain and Temple Hill, plus a grand finale with Gary V., Jamie, and Tricia. Sponsors are AMA Group of Companies, Muebles Asia, Ley Construction & Development Corp., Hanisahs Fine Dining, and Ultra Tech.
Proceeds of the concert will go to the Philippine Montessori Centers Outreach Program, Mithing Pangarap Foundation and the new PMC elementary school, Temple Hill International School.
Philippine Montessori Center believes in the power of music in the childs early development stages. Established in 1968, the Philippine Montessori Center is one of the pioneers in Montessori education in the country. The campus at White Plains Subdivision offers pre-school education for children aged one-and-a half to six.
Aside from the yearly culminating activities in school, batches of the PMC Childrens Instrumental Ensemble have performed with the Philippine Madrigal Singers and Ryan Cayabyab.
