RS Francisco’s got it all for you

RS Francisco returns to his roots. Yes, the talented stage actor who made his mark on stage as M. Butterfly returns to the limelight, this time as a hilarious politician in Live AIDS 20 on Feb. 21 at the Music Museum.

RS has a flair for catching the crowd’s attention with his mere presence. He started gracing the theater when he was in fifth grade at La Salle. While taking up his Film at the University of the Philippines, he portrayed the role of the controversial spy-mistress in Dulaang UP’s M. Butterfly. After taking the fame from the hit play, that’s when he joined an organization called UP Samaskom.

Due to his natural talent in stage acting, he eventually became the most awaited monologue artist in Live A.I.D.S. (Ang Istoryang Dinibelop ng Samaskom), a yearly comedy-variety show produced by UP Samaskom. He first impressed Live AIDS audiences as a smart and determined SM sweet sales lady. Then he spoofed the travails of a hospitable flight stewardess. Following his successful monologues, another hilarious rendition as Rachel More-on (originally Rachel Marron by Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard) was witnessed by the crowd. He left a lasting mark on the minds of the Live AIDS audience and performed year after year.

After RS’ last performance as a monologue artist in Live AIDS five years ago, he joined the advertising business as an assistant director for print and television commercials. For five years he taught hundreds of actors how to deliver their lines and gestures with the proper timing.

Now, as Live AIDS reaches its 20th series, this actor turned assistant director could not resist the itch to perform yet another remarkable monologue. RS returns with a new hilariously satirical weapon – a nuisance presidential candidate! She is definitely the candidate any constituent would love and vote for. She is sweet, smart, talented and charming. Not all presidentiables seem to have these qualities but certainly this one has got it all for you.
