The beauty and passion of poetry

Seize the day!
This is what the movie called Dead Poets Society has taught me. I still remember the way Mr. John Keatings eyes sparkled while uttering those inspirational words.
The movie revolves around an idealistic teacher who is an inspiration to his students. Mr. Keating is a passionate poet who believes that poetry and beauty, romance and love are the reasons we are alive. Poetry is everything for him and it is his passion for poetry that probably makes me love the movie. He is a very good and incomparable teacher whom I admire.
Before this movie I had not yet watched a film which touched me deeply and instantly became a part of me. Dead Poets Society has the power to make me burst into tears as well as jump for joy. It is because this movie tells the story of every persons dreams and passion in life.
Every scene in the movie shows the importance and beauty of existence. Frankly speaking, at first I was not interested in watching an English movie because I had a hard time understanding English conversations. But my best friend persuaded me to watch it, and to my surprise, since then Ive enjoyed watching foreign films. Personally, I really find it marvelous, undeniably beautiful and full of emotions.
The movie is so inspiring I cannot help but share its story to my classmates over and over again. I just dont even mind it when they say they are tired of listening to me. But why am I so emotionally attached to the movie? Even I myself cannot understand. The only thing I am certain of is that I am totally hooked; each scene kept on playing in my head. Last night as I lay on my bed, thoughts and ideas kept flooding my mind. I did not have any choice but to grab pen and paper and then start to write. That is one of so many things I should thank the movie for, I guess. Because through it I have learned to value the talents God has given me, and I have been persuaded to write not just poems but short stories.
The characters of the movie resemble myself. I can easily relate to them and sense although not exactly what they profoundly feel. I have gone through as many experiences as they had. And it is good to watch a movie that tackles a normal life because in some way, somehow, experiences connect us to the persons the characters portray. I find the movie a great example for teachers and students, too. It is because it provides vital answers to questions regarding an individuals identity and how to live up to it and follow ones dream.
This movie made me realize many things. Parents for example must be considerate and supportive of their children. They must give them the liberty to choose the profession which will give them satisfaction. After all, the success of the children is a parents pride as well. We, the children, we must learn to fight for our dreams and have the courage to speak out our mind. Our parents are just waiting for us to say something.
We must discover the extraordinary meaning of our lifes quest. "No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world," is one of Mr. Keatings best lines. These encouraging words and ideas together create a beautiful theme which Dead Poets Society never fails to impart.
