PLDT clarifies phone card issue
October 6, 2003 | 12:00am
I got a clarificatory statement from PLDT, which should clear the issue about the phone cards featuring my friends Patricia Javier and Joyce Jimenez. Here it is:
PLDT management reiterates that it has terminated the premium phone services featuring Patricia Javier and Joyce Jimenez and has also stopped production of the said cards long before Marinduque Rep. Edmund Reyes Jr. waged a media assault against the company.
Any phone card being sold bearing the images of Patricia Javier and Joyce Jimenez are the option of retailers since PLDT has stopped producing and distributing these cards to our major dealers.
PLDt management continues to see no valid reason for Congressman Reyess media grandstanding against the company, more so his call for an investigation since the issue being raised no longer exists.
PLDT terminated its phone service featuring Joyce Jimenez as of May 20, 2003 and likewise terminated its phone service featuring Patricia Javier as of April 21, 2003 and Aug. 22, 2003.
In fairness to PLDT, the company terminated the phone services and stopped production and distribution of the cards without need for Congressman Reyess intervention.
PLDT is proud to announce the most recent phone cards and services it has launched including the Cardinal Sin card for the benefit of Caritas Foundation, the "Make-A-Wish" card featuring Jolina Magdangal, and soon, the Ninoy Aquino phone card for the benefit of the Benigno Aquino Jr. Foundation all designed to promote, uplift, and support Filipino values.
When popular radio station RX 93.1 celebrated its 20th anniversary with its traditional grand bash, it wasnt just looking back on two decades of achievement two decades of pushing the envelope in radio programming it was firmly looking forward to the future. In fact, the title of its anniversary celebration, Decade2Decade, refers less to RX 93.1s towering presence in FM since the 80s, but is more of an affirmation of the stations commitment to excellence that has won it awards and kept the loyalty of its (ever-expanding) audience through the decades.
Decade2Decade The RX 93.1 20th Anniversary Party was a fittingly memorable occasion that brought together todays hottest recording artists at The Forum at The Podium in a celebration dedicated to the lifeblood of RX, its listeners. Chart favorites like Side A, Parokya ni Edgar, Kyla, Nina, Mojo Fly and Moonstar88, performed alongside new artists like Jay-R, Arnee, and Brand Breakout discovery Stonefree, to the wild cheers of the audience that packed The Forum.
The spectacular party ushers in a new era of creative growth and corporate progress for RX 93.1, beginning with the RX-Sun Cellular Breakout 2003, the annual RX Artist Hunt for promising unsigned bands. In the last quarter of the year, Monster Radio RX 93.1 also introduces the new members of its on-air staff, who will take their place alongside RX 93.1s popular DJs, newscasters, and announcers: Chico Garcia, Delamar, Boom Gonzales, Chinggay, Louie D, Rico Robles, Francesca, Tom Alvarez, Jude Rocha, Raffy Reyes and Danielle.
Decade2Decade is just a prelude to many more decades of growing up and getting younger with Manilas hottest, Monster Radio RX 93.1!
