The 2003 MTV Video Awards nominees

It is Moonman time once again and here are the nominees for the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. The indomitable Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott put one over pop idol Justin Timberlake and the venerable country music artist Johnny Cash by getting eight nominations including Video of the Year for her video Work It. She was also nominated for Best Female Video, Hip Hop Video, Direction, Special Effects, Art Direction, Editing and Cinematography. Work It is the lead cut from Missys Under Construction album.
Close on Missys heels comes ex-N Sync Justin Timberlake with seven nods, five for his Cry Me A River and two for Rock Your Body. Both songs are from his first solo album Justified. Johnny Cash, who has nearly 50 years experience as a music artist, got six nominations for his video of the song Hurt from his album American IV: The Man Comes Around. Hurt and Justins Cry Me a River are also up for the Best Video of the Year trophy. Here is the list.
