Korina, Bench, Charlies Angels, Leonardo Bags and me
June 20, 2003 | 12:00am
Korina Sanchez and I just did a photo shoot for the new Bench ad campaign. It was lots of fun for both of us because we were photographed by Jun de Leon, our favorite. We cant wait for our billboards to be unveiled this July.
Also this month, my billboards for Leonardo bags will already be visible. Jun de Leon also did the pictorial. I wish I could give you a peek because I do have quite a number of Polaroids. Unfortunately, theres a strict confidentiality clause, and Im not allowed to pre-empt their media campaign. The poses were very creatively executed, and Im very pleased with the results. Im getting quite spoiled by Leonardos Managing Director, Susan Tan. She specially ordered several bags for me in the funky colors of orange and fuchsia which I love!
Have you seen the trailer of Charlies Angel Full Throttle? I cant wait for the movie to open. Boy Abunda was invited to attend the promotional junket for the international press in Los Angeles. The invitation from our friend, Doris Torres of Columbia Pictures, came a bit late and Boy was unable to accept due to his numerous previously scheduled commitments. Ive always adored Drew Barrymore! How I wish Id been given the opportunity!
Ever since I blurted out on The Buzz that I was the only person to whom Boy had revealed the amount of Ai-Ais bonus, everybody has nagged me to reveal the exact figure. I still dont have Boys permission, but the amount is in the millions! For all we know, it will grow even bigger because the film has already crossed the P150 million mark!
I was just told that on the first weekend of July, Game KNB will be taping at Camp John Hay in Baguio. Our Cebu special was an experiment, and its success paved the way for us to really bring the game to all parts of the country.
Some non-showbiz friends commented that I seem to be following in the footsteps of Kabayan Noli de Castro when TV Patrol went on a nationwide caravan a few months before he declared his Senatorial candidacy. The fact remains that a candidate must be at least 35 years old to run for the Senate. By next year I will still be two whole years shy of the minimum age requirement. So there really isnt a hidden agenda in our bringing Game KNB all over the country!
While were on this topic, Korina and I are also not out to woo our absentee voters in the United States when we bring Morning Girls to four cities in the West Coast this September. The Filipino Channel is very popular and ABS-CBN is giving in to the numerous requests from subscribers to bring Korina and me there. Korina, in spite of the fact that shell certainly be a Senatorial topnotcher, has declared countless times that she is not interested in seeking public office. What we did agree on was that wed draw up a mutually agreed upon list of six senatorial candidates we will actively endorse. We both realize how privileged we are to be given the influence to influence our viewers. The men and women well choose will be the candidates we personally feel have the integrity, intelligence, diligence, charisma, and vision to help propel our country forward!
