More nominees for the 45th Grammy Awards

SOUNDS FAMILIAR - Baby A. Gil -
Here now is the second part of the list of nominations for the upcoming 45th Grammy Awards. Understandably space prevents me from putting down all of the nominees. The list can fill up an entire magazine. So for those interested in the Jazz, Classical, Country, New Age, Latin, Tejano, Packaging and other categories that I am not able to include, check out the Grammy site on the net. That is where they have everything listed down.

Take note that rap music continues to gain in importance as a music form. Last year saw the addition of the new category of Rap/Sung Collaboration. This year, the performance category was divided between male and female artists. This puts rap on the same level as Pop and Rock. Other categories added this year are Best Contemporary R&B Performance which goes to the likes of Brandy and Faith Evans and the Best Urban Alternative. I still cannot tell the difference but this must be for recordings that crosses over to other genres and therefore defy simple classification.
