Have a happy Vegas vacation, Zsa Zsa!
February 20, 2002 | 12:00am
Another friend I love is Zsa Zsa Padilla. The only flowers I got on Valentines Day were from her. Beautiful tulips. They were so beautiful that I knelt inside our room and prayed to God for all the flowers that grow on this earth including the tulips Zsa Zsa sent me.
I also thanked Him for friends like Zsa Zsa who gives part of her life to friendships like ours. I also prayed for my "sinister" sister Kris (Aquino), who gets really mad when my face gets oily when I do my Private Conversations. I said, "God, dont let Kris get tired telling me about the things I dont care about, but should care about."
"Boy, its not about being beautiful," Kris would tell me, (I always say that why should I care? My career is not about being beautiful.) "Its all about looking clean and neat."
Only someone who loves you will put it straight to an adamant, shameless face like mine. Its also Kris who tells me when I am objective, when I know the subject well, when my research shows in my conversations. Thank you Lord for these people.
And back to the tulips of Zsa Zsa. They were so pretty that if I were to stand beside the arrangement, I would hands down look like the pot. But more than the tulips, the note was heartwarming.
"Happy hearts day!"
She said she will miss doing a show on this day but at the same time, shes looking forward to vacationing in Las Vegas with her family.
What a journey it has been, Zsa Zsa. The scars may not show what you went through crossing bridges over troubled waters. The good thing is you have remained whole despite moments when you felt you were at points of no return.
Get some rest, enjoy your time with your family. Sparkle with the lights of Vegas because wherever you are, you are a shimmering diamond, inside out.
Thank you, Zsa Zsa. We will always be here for you. Thank you, Krissie.
One of todays hottest bands, Slapshock recently rocked the Cebu Civic and Trade Center with Bandorama
Hordes of fans flocked to the concert to listen to the ear-piercing lyrics and heart-pounding music of the rap-metal band.
Composed of Jamir Garcia, guitarists Jerry Basco and Lean Ansing, bassist Lee Nadela and drummer Chi Evora, Slapshock won top honors last year at the NU 107 Rock Awards where they received Band of the Year, Listeners Choice Award and Bassist of the Year.
Bandorama was one of the highlights of the Tribal Fest 2002. It was a joint event of Light Bulb Productions, Blueprint Promotions and Dickies Jeans, USA in celebration of Sinulog 2002.
You may see him bringing out laughs and giggles in his weekly gag show Bubble Gang or cavorting with his co-hosts in SOP but for Ogie Alcasid, he is a singer first and foremost.
The voice behind the immortal pop classics Nandito Ako, Dito sa Puso Ko, Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang Dumating? and many more is back with a new album titled A Better Man. This is Ogies first album under Viva Records.
The album boasts of 12 tracks including Ikaw Sana, Ikaw Pa Rin Pala, Sa Puso Ko, Hanggang Ngayon (duet with Regine Velasquez), Sana, Pangako, I Will Be There, Ill Be Yours Forever, Ikaw Lamang, Sana Bukas Mahal Mo Ako, One (sung with Jaya, Lani Misalucha and Regine Velasquez) and the title track. Most of the songs were written by Ogie himself.
Among the musicians who lent a hand in producing the album are Marc Lopez, Ric Mercado, Eric Payuma, Obet Andaya, Cecile Azarcon, Sushi Reyes, Manolo Tanquilot, Carlo Bulahan and Marvin Querido.
A Better Man by Ogie Alcasid is available in CD and cassette formats in all record bars nationwide.
