Multi-"platinum" awarded singer-songwriter David Pomeranz rarely gets excited about a performance.
As an accomplished artist and composer, he has performed with music industry greats and reaped recording awards for his songs. But when offered to guest in Regine Velasquez's US concerts, David immediately accepted the invitation.
David, who has popularized the romantic ballads "King and Queen of Hearts", "Got to Believe in Magic", and "Born for You", also wrote the Barry Manilow smash hits "The Old Songs", and "Trying To Get The Feeling Again".
He is such a favorite in the Philippines that his recent album "Born for You - His Best and More", has reached over 10 times platinum status a few short months after release. His Christmas CD, "The Eyes Of Christmas" went immediately Gold upon release.
"I am simply thrilled to be working with Regine again. She ranks among the greatest and the best singers for me", an excited David enthused.
It's been quite a while since David, also known as the "King of Hearts" in the Philippine recording industry, performed with Regine. Although David and Regine have sung duets on Philippine television, they did not have an opportunity to perform together in a live concert.
During those brief TV appearances, both admired each other's musical talent and since then they have looked forward to a chance to work together.
Now, for the first time, Asia's Songbird and the King of Hearts will share a concert stage when David guests in Regine's much-awaited US concert tour "Flying High".
Regine's homecoming concerts are slated for Sunday, September 9 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Hollywood, California, and on Saturday,September 15 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
The two will sing their signature hits, as well as heartwarming renditions of popular hits. Together, Regine and David, promise to give their Filipino fans a night to remember with Flying High.
Flying High will also feature Regine's sister, Cacai Velasquez, who is also making waves in the Philippines as a television host. The show is produced by Millie Gurfinkel of the Gurfinkel Corp., directed by Jet Montelibano, and line produced by Edith Montelibano of Creative Concepts Inc.
