FLYING HIGH: Regine's much-awaited return

- Anne Stephanie Cruz -
JUST when everybody thought she would kiss her US career goodbye, "Asia's Songbird" Regine Velasquez proved to one and all that there is truth in the saying, good things come to those who wait.

Months after her planned string of concerts in the US was shelved due to an unfortunate incident that would have left her unable to perform in any US concert hall ever again, the US Immigration and Naturalization service lifted what was envisioned to be a lifetime ban on Regine; thanks to the dedication and hard work of top immigration law expert Michael Gurfinkel.

Together with his wife Millie, Atty. Gurfinkel accompanied Regine last month, June 10, for Regine's first trip back to America after the US Embassy circumstance. Having been missed by her fans, both Filipino and foreign, Regine announced to members of the press that her long-awaited US concert tour will finally push through in September.

The singer, who has set a record for packing giant venues full during her concerts, will perform at the Los Angeles Universal Amphitheatre on September 9, and at the San Francisco Cow Palace on September 15.

In this concert tour, "Flying High", Regine promises to deliver another stunning performance by singing her signature songs and other popular hits.

She will be joined on stage by premier balladeer David Pomeranz, who sang the romantic classics "Got to Believe in Magic", "King and Queen of Hearts", and "Born for You". David's concerts, too, have been certified crowd-drawers in the Philippines.

Regine's equally-talented sister, Cacai, is another special guest.

"Flying High" is directed by Jet Montelibano and line-produced by Creative Concepts. Executive producer is Millie Gurfinkel.
