Ricky Martin flies high with She Bangs - SOUNDS FAMILIAR by Baby A. Gil

It may have taken longer than what happened with the totally rousing theme from the World Cup Copa de Vida and the rather decadent Livin’ La Vida Loca. The Vengaboys’ This is How We Do It and Jennifer Lopez’s Let’s Get Loud were the dance tunes of the previous year. But local listeners finally caught on the fervid beat and they are now singing and shaking their bonbons to Ricky Martin’s latest ode to the swinging life She Bangs.
The song is a cut from the Latin idol’s latest and probably most awaited album ever, Sound Loaded. I say most awaited because of the big number of Ricky Martin fans from all over the world, who are always eager to get their hands on anything from, about or that concerns him. And also for all those interested in finding out if he still has some wind left after the dizzying whirl his music launched him into these past three years.
Well, he still has the wind and obviously the right moves. The pop star lifestyle has taxed his vocals a bit. Some seams occasionally show up in his singing although in a quite sensual George Michael way. But he leaves no doubt that his music maintains the frenetic Vida pace he is associated with in Sound Loaded. She Bangs is right up in this alley. It is lively dance track that prods listeners to move and indulge in guilty pleasures from hot Latin producer and former Menudo star Robi Rosa plus Desmond Child and Walter Afanasieff. A bit laid back but still as infectious are Loaded, One Night Man and Jezebel.
