Carcar, Argao advance into South Div. finals
CEBU, Philippines — Carcar City and Argao sealed the finals slots of the South division in 2018 Governor's Cup Inter Cities and Municipalities 18-Under Volleyball Tournament at the Carcar City Municipal Gym yesterday.
Carcar finished the quarterfinals strong with a perfect 5-0 record after beating Argao in a three-setter, 26-24, 14-25, 25-18.
Even if they lost, the Argao belles still managed to clinch the finals berth after finishing the quarterfinals round with a 4-1 slate.
Carcar and Argao will battle in a best-of-three finals series for the South division title. The winner will face the North division champion.
Dalaguete defeated Oslob in straight sets, 25-19-25-22, but was only good for third place with their 3-2 record.
Moalboal also ended its bid with a victory over Dumanjug, 25-22, 25-18. (FREEMAN)
