CEBU, Philippines — US tech Dell EMC seeks to further its growth in the Philippine market as companies look to engage in digital transformation and that there's a need to prepare the workforce for the future.

In an interview on Tuesday, Dell EMC Philippines country general manager Ronnie Latinazo said the company is positioning itself as a strategic partner to businesses that are looking to transform their IT (information technology) operations.

"Technology continues to change the way industries are conducting businesses and the way customers transact," the executive said in a media briefing in the firm's corporate office in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

"Digital information will continue to grow and flood companies," he said.

"It will exponentially grow," he added.

Yesterday, the company introduced a set of new commercial clients solutions laptops, called the Latitude portfolio, to address myriad ways people work today.

The new laptops, the firm said, are developed amid the increasingly mobile workforce.

"We're passionate about creating technology that expands the boundaries of what's possible," he said.

Dell cited a global research showing the impact of emerging technologies that are 48 percent of global business leaders believe they'll have more job satisfaction in the future by offloading tasks to machines.

Thus, businesses and workforce today are increasingly critical on devices they need to support their work today and help adapt the future.

"We are entering the future of work where people work and run their businesses constantly change as technology continue to evolve," said Mitch Juliano, the firm's field marketing manager. "There is significant expectation rising on the positive impact emerging technology can bring."

Latinazo said Dell EMC is looking to educate the market on their combined portfolio ranging from solutions, desktops, laptops, storage, security, networking, and cloud solutions, among others.

Today the US-based firm is the largest privately-owned IT player in the world, with revenues of about $749.9 billion.

In September 2016, Dell Technologies  had announced its acquisition of EMC Corp, creating a unique family of businesses that provides the essential infrastructure for organizations to build their digital future, transform IT and protect their most important asset, information.

Latinazo said the merger of Dell Technologies and EMC Corp. strengthened the firm's position in the market and has increased its share in the market, catering to both companies and customers.

He said the company is bent on modernizing technology infrastructure as digital transformation continues to take shape the way businesses operate today.

Dell EMC enables its enterprise customers’ IT and digital business transformation through trusted hybrid cloud and big-data solutions, built upon a modern data center infrastructure that incorporates industry-leading converged infrastructure, servers, storage, and cybersecurity technologies.

Latinazo said the company helps its customers and partners drive the digital transformation of their businesses, particularly in areas of IT transformation, workforce transformation and security transformation.

"We help businesses reinvent and realize their digital future," he noted.

In the Philippines, the tech firm's clients range from big companies to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and individual customers as well.

It also has a total of 11 concept stores in the country, five of which are in key Visayas and Mindanao cities.

Latinazo said the firm considers the VisMin region as its important growing market. (FREEMAN)
