Nurse caught smuggling contraband at CPDRC
CEBU, Philippines — A nurse working as job order for the Capitol was caught smuggling contrabands into the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) last Sunday.
Confiscated from him were 145 assorted lighters, 10 pieces of shoe glue, 40 pieces of brand new sim cards, 17 pieces of alkaline batteries, six pieces assorted headsets, three pieces assorted colored pouch, and one piece black paper bag.
The confiscated items are now in the custody of the Philippine National Police. Acting CPDRC warden Roberto Legaspi said the nurse, whose name he refused to reveal, was caught by the police personnel assigned at the entrance of the jail facility.Legaspi said he already recommended the termination of the nurse.
Legaspi said it was not the first time that a nurse was caught doing it. Last month before he assumed as the acting warden, another nurse was also caught doing a similar act. The said nurse, who was also a job order employee, was also recommended for termination.
The acting warden believes that the nurse was going to give the contraband items to the inmates during the health checkup session.
