Lascuña stays 2 shots off with 69 in Taiwan golf
MANILA, Philippines — Tony Lascuña shot a three-under 69 and moved within two strokes off Ajeetesh Sandhu of India and two others in the third round of the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club in Taiwan yesterday.
Lascuña hit four birdies, including on No. 18, against a three-putt bogey on No. 8. He missed just one green on No. 14 but saved a par from six feet.
With a 208 aggregate, the veteran Filipino campaigner stood just two shots off Sandhu, local ace Lu Wei-chih and American Johannes Veerman, who pooled identical 206s after 69, 69 and 70, respectively.
Matching Lascuña’s output is Malaysian Danny Chia, who also carded a 69 for joint fourth while Thai Prom Meesawat fired a 70 and stayed in the race in the $500,000 event at 209.
Miguel Tabuena, meanwhile, shot a 71 and lay too far behind at 217.
