Generals, Red Cubs keep Martin Cup streak

MANILA, Philippines - Emilio Aguinaldo College and San Beda-Alabang held off their respective rivals as they kept their win run in the 23rd Fr. Martin Cup summer basketball tournament at San Beda gym recently.

The EAC Generals knocked down key charities in the final minute as they repulsed the Centro Escolar University Scorpions, 88-81, in the seniors division while the SBC-Alabang Red Cubs leaned on William Zuno and Marlon Mahilum in the clutch to frustrate the Lyceum Junior Pirates, 93-85, in the juniors play.

The Generals also drew 23 points from Sidney Onwuberre as they notched their fourth straight victory in Group B.

Zuno and Mahilum, meanwhile, scored 27 and 16 points, respectively, for the Red Cubs, who also extended their win run to four in Group A. 

In other junior games, Letran routed Rich Golden Montessori School, 103-56, for a 2-1 slate in Group B while La Salle Greenhills edged St. Patrick, 74-73, for a 2-2 slate in Group A.
