Man dies saving wife from in-law
CEBU, Philippines - A husband who tried to rescue his wife allegedly being mauled by his brother-in-law was stabbed dead in Sitio Crossing, Barangay Balud, San Fernando, southern Cebu yesterday.
Police Officer 1 Erwin Oyao said that William Angga, 37, tried to stop Nizalde Plarizan, wife, 37, from beating his wife Mabeth inside their house around 5:30 p.m.
Oyao said Plarizan purposely went to Angga’s house to confront Mabeth who allegedly sent a text message to the lesbian lover of Plarizan’s live-in partner.
Mabeth denied the suspect’s accusation, telling him she could not text since she does not have a cellular phone. Plarizan then allegedly punched his sister in the face and hit her with a chair.
Angga, who saw his wife being beaten, tried to save his wife, not knowing the suspect was armed. Plarizan reportedly then pulled a knife and stabbed him in the left abdomen. The suspect allegedly tried to stab Angga again but was prevented by his sister.
Plarizan fled immediately from the area while Angga was brought to Carcar Provincial Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
“Usa ra ni ang naangkon nga samad sa biktima pero lawom-lawom gyod unya niburot sad iyang tiyan,” Oyao said.
Mabeth also told the police that her brother was high on drugs during the incident.
Plarizan, who remains at large, will face charges of homicide and illegal possession of bladed weapon. (FREEMAN)
