Punishers lead opening day winners in IBP-Cebu caging
CEBU, Philippines - The Punishers literally punished the Pañeros, 66-44, to lead the cast of opening day winners in the 2017 Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Cebu Basketball League over the weekend at the Capitol Parish gym.
Rowell Juban, who previously played for the Pañeros, swiftly made an impression in Punishers' uniform with his double-double show of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Team manager Tope Ang had 15 points and passed out eight assists in a wire-to-wire victory for the Punishers.
In the other games, the Sub Zero Idols courageously overhauled a 25-point deficit in the third quarter to baffle the Spartans at the final buzzer, 68-64, while Gemco Gaballes and Kern Sesante connived for 35 points to power the Dzntrs past the Bad Boyz, 84-61.
Allan Geotina fired six triples of his 20 points to no avail for the Bad Boyz.
