Four nabbed in Talisay for drug possession
CEBU, Philippines - One of Talisay City Police's illegal drug high value targets and three others got arrested in separate operations last Saturday.
Police Officer 2 Romanito Dinapo of the Talisay City Police Station said operatives first proceeded to Sitio Rattan, Barangay Tanke around 4 p.m. last Saturday after they received reports of the rampant illegal drug trade happening in the area.
In that operation, the police were able to arrest three drug personalities identified as Reymart Padillo, 18, Edwin Reponte, 48, and a 17-year-old boy who are residents of the said place.
Dinapo said that those arrested were newly identified drug personalities in the area.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were 0.72 grams of suspected shabu valued at P8,496.
Three hours later, the operatives proceeded to Sitio Hawod in Barangay Bulacao, where they arrested Herman Alcantara, 49, a resident of Barangay Dumlog, Talisay.
Alcantara is reportedly one of the top ten high valued targets of the city’s police force.
According to the police, they went to the area to conduct a follow-up operation of the recent burglary incident.
When they arrived in the area, they chanced upon Alcantara who was allegedly in possession of illegal drugs.
Dinapo said that, since last year, the suspect was included in the station's watch list and was identified as a level 2 drug pusher.
They recovered packs of suspected shabu weighing about seven grams in his possession that has a street value of P82,600.
All the four suspects are now detained at the station pending the filing of charges against them for violation of the anti-drugs law. —/GAN (FREEMAN)
