Karma from ‘The Clincher’

SOUNDS FAMILIAR - Carmen N. Pedrosa - The Philippine Star

Mamasapano – more than anything during Aquino’s administration – revealed his character; he should never have become president. As I wrote then, it was his own father, Ninoy, who consulted a psychiatrist friend that his son was (walang ka-drive drive). It was a father’s euphemism for mental deficiency.

In Boston he would lie in a sofa all day while his sisters worked to earn a living. When people came to visit Ninoy in his house the son would lock himself in his room. These were pretty harmless. The father was worried about how Noynoy would live on his own.

To other Upsilonians living in Boston they noticed something more when he conversed with them. He had a confused mind. He would say one thing and then in the next contradict what he had just said.

The Agulars and the Aquinos were close family friends. A reliable source said the Aquinos lived in their house for a while when they had not settled in Boston. I can believe that there are no medical records on the treatment. The consultations were made in Agular’s house.

I was in San Francisco when an apolitical friend called me to please write a column on this very important piece of information. The Agulars were friends of my source and the Aquinos. Most of them were “brods” living in Boston. I had no doubt about her story and sincerity.

This is what I wrote in 2010 to a brod in Boston who had written about the strange behavior of Noynoy.

Dear G. B.

Thank you very much for your letter. I am not after any medical affirmation of Noynoy’s incapacity to lead our country. But I am sure you can share your wisdom and knowledge of Ninoy’s son at the time when you were in Newton.  Ninoy’s apprehensions about his son is well known and that is what I reported on.

Unfortunately before I wrote “The Clincher” two psychological reports came out of the Ateneo. One, I think was a preemptive release to discredit the authentic made by Father Bulatao whom I knew personally. Much was made of the fact that it was not signed. The discussion on whether it was signed or not was not the point. The contents are in so far as it can be corroborated with his own acts and personality difficulties that his own father was concerned about. My source that you were close to the Agulars was .... another Upsilonian. I think the psychological reports sparked a debate on whether or not Filipinos have a right to information that will affect their decision on who to vote for president. That debate itself has raised the awareness that a presidential candidate should not just be 100 percent healthy in body and mind. He has to be 150 percent to be able to pull the country together into better times. I hope to hear from you for any other details you may want to contribute to the discussion. If you want to google my article that sparked a debate you can google in Philippine STAR. The title was “The Clincher.”

There are different versions why Aquino left 44 SAF to die. As the facts are revealed, it shows why he should never have become president. One theory is that it really was a CIA operation but they wanted Filipinos to do the dirty work of getting the terrorist Marwan.

Another says Noynoy wanted the reward money to himself so he did not bother to use the line of command. He left the job to his buddy PNP General Alan Purisima. Remember walang ka-drive drive and does not think straight.

He should never have been President but his supporters and that include some Jesuits helped him to hide the facts. This is from Air Force General Romeo Poquiz, a FB friend:

“For 2 years, I kept my outrage to myself on the Mamasapano incident. With nobody punished on its 2nd year anniversary today, however, I cannot anymore contain my outrage I have to publicly speak up.

As a former Air Force helicopter pilot deployed in the field, my crew and I were always on the alert. When calls for air support from engaged Army or Marine ground forces were received, we were up in the air in no time at all and delivered the required assistance – be it aerial fire support or close air support, medical or casualty evacuation, food or ammo resupply, transport of reinforcement troops, etc. We did these to the ground troops despite them coming from different branches of service. We did these even if we sometimes have to violate Air Force regulations such as flying at night, during inclement weather, flying without a buddy aircraft, extremely dangerous combat situations, etc. We did these even when there was no prior coordination with us by the ground troops on their operation, and we had to improvise in order to locate them to support them. We did these even when there were no orders yet from air force commanders for us to fly and conduct the missions. We did these again and again even if our helicopters were riddled with bullet holes after every mission.

There were PAF helicopters and close air support aircraft in Zamboanga and Davao on that day yet not a single aircraft flew to support the SAF. Not even for persuasion flights. Why? The Air Force commanders said there was no order for them to dispatch the aircraft. Bullshit! I would have hanged myself if I was the Air Force commander. Why did a US helicopter pick up the dead and wounded instead of a Philippine Air Force helicopter?

The request for support by the SAF was not an ordinary request for assistance. It was an S.O.S. It was for a rescue. The troops were sitting ducks and were being slaughtered, some with their heads decapitated – the massacres were even being witnessed live via US drone monitor by a president at the 3rd Air Division headquarters in Zamboanga City.

Why was there no artillery support given despite the pleas of the police commanders? Because there was no prior coordination on the operation and you were not given the exact grid coordinates. P******na! For 12 hours? The dying troops may have at least thought that they were supported before their last breath.”

The fact-finding body created by Duterte should do an encompassing investigation. Mamapasano will no longer be mere speculation. This is the karma of the Noynoy government and it should name those who insisted in protecting him at all cost for specific reasons and answer why.
