At least 11 senior citizens have filed an administrative case before the Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas against the local chief executive of Dalaguete in southern Cebu officer-in-charge of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for alleged violations of the rights of senior citizens in the town.

The Office of the Ombudsman Visayas has upheld the dismissal of the administrative and criminal complaint filed by one Maria Priscilla S. Melendres against dismissed Mandaue City mayor Jonas Cortes and four city councilors.
