Del Rosario sa POC: Davao gawin na lang satellite venue para sa 2019 Manila SEAG

TAGUM, Davao del Norte, Philippines – Ibang level na ang Southeast Asian Games kumpara sa napamahalaang 2015 Palarong Pambansa at sa kasalukuyang pinangangasiwaang 2016 Batang Pinoy.

Kaya naman iminungkahi kahapon ni Davao del Norte Gov. Anthony Del Rosario sa Philippine Olympic Committee na gawin na lamang silang satellite venue ng 30th SEA Games sa 2019.

“We have to consider that these are national athletes from the different Southeast Asian countries. So we are looking at possibly hosting two or three events,” wika kahapon ni Del Rosario.

Nauna nang ikinunsidera ni POC president Jose ‘Peping’  Cojuangco  Jr. ang Davao para maging main hub ng 2019 SEA Games matapos makausap si Phi­lippine Sports Commission chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez.

Ayon kay Del Rosario, wala silang sapat na bilang ng hotel para sa inaasahang pagdagsa ng mga libu-libong delegado mula sa 10 pang miyembro ng SEA Games.

“We are waiting for the decision of the POC and the PSC regarding the matter,” ani Del Rosario sa hangad niyang pangangasiwa ng Davao del Norte sa mga events ng boxing, swimming at ilang combat sport.

Ang 2019 SEAG ang ikaapat na pagkakataon na pamamahalaan ng Pilipinas ang biennial meet  matapos noong 1981, 1991 at 2005. Noong 2005 ay hinirang ang bansa bilang overall champion sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon matapos pumangalawa noong 1991.
