Talisay police ready for Undas
CEBU, Philippines - Despite the relief of its commander, the Talisay City Police Station has assured that all security preparations for the All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day are in place.
Senior Inspector Edward Villarin said two police officers will be deployed in each of the five cemeteries in the city. A police help desk will be set up outside the cemeteries where the public can ask for assistance.
Talisay City has three public cemeteries in Barangays Poblacion, Tanke and Cansojong. The two private cemeteries are located in Barangays San Roque and Mohon.
Villarin reminded the public to refrain from bringing alcoholic drinks, gambling paraphernalia, sound system, and bladed weapons when visiting their departed loved ones in the cemetery.
He warned those who will be caught bringing in prohibited items that they will be arrested and will face appropriate charges in court. Villarin said the security preparations have been laid out by Superintendent Aileen Recla before she was relieved from office.
Recla along with seven other police officials in Central Visayas and 20 non-commissioned officers were ordered to report to Camp Crame. The grounds for their relief were not immediately known.
Villarin said they are also in heightened alert status to prevent any untoward incident. (FREEMAN)
