Karting big guns vie anew in Petron series

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Petron Tri-Activ ROK Karting Super Series holds its fourth leg today with the favorites out to step up their respective title bids at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

Empire-Red Bull Racing bets Jarred Kim and Khazart Romoff try to duplicate their victories in their respective divisions the last time out but both expect a tough challenger from a slew of rivals in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.

Kim braces for another fierce duel with Inigo Anton of Edgesport-Yokohama Racing as he guns for his fourth straight win and sixth overall this season in the Mini-ROK XCS class.

The duo figured in a tight duel in the last two legs with Kim snaring the last leg crown by just 0.055 of a second.

Two other Empire-Red Bull Racing karters – Zach David and Aidan Quek of Singapore – remain in contention in what looms to be a four-way battle in the race that also includes Joharry Suba and Cebuano Seven Aleman.

Romoff also tries to firm up his hold of the solo lead in the Formula Cadet Expert Ultron division against Anton, Suba, William Go, Miguel Angeles and Junho Kim.
