MANILA, Philippines – The UP Lady Maroons' stint in the 13th Shakey's V-League Collegiate Conference is a holistic experience for the squad, team captain Kathy Bersola said.

After a grueling five-set Game One defeat, the Lady Maroons turned back Far Eastern University in Game 2 of the battle for third in four sets 25-18, 25-21, 32-34, 25-21, Wednesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Veteran Nicole Tiamzon and reigning UAAP Rookie of the Year Isa Molde dropped 24 points apiece. Diana Carlos added 12.

"Good na nanalo kami today. Malaking boost siya for experience para sa amin kasi naranasan namin yung up and down tapos nagawa namin bumalik sa mataas na level," Bersola said.

Even with the win, Bersola rued the Lady Maroons' tendency to zone out during matches especially in the third set.

"Yun ang sinasabi ni coach before pa na mawala lang kami nang kaunti sa focus 'yun mahahabol kami," Bersola said. "Dikit, ang taas ng score, ang layo ng inabot pero hindi namin nakuha. Sayang."

Bersola said they will the experience they gained in the conference for the upcoming UAAP wars.

"(Aim) is higher than last year, so three pataas. Lahat naman tayo goal ay championship," said Bersola.
