CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City government is finalizing next week the proposal of SM Prime Holdings Inc. to transfer the temporary v-hire terminal at Compania Maritima to the SM Seaside City at the South Road Properties.

City administrator Lucelle Mercado said the meeting will be done to finalize the transfer.

“There will be another meeting next week for finalization and para mapangutana sad kung kanus-a sad sila ready mobalhin.” Mercado said.

The SM Seaside City management asked the city’s Terminal Accreditation Committee for permit to operate a v-hire terminal last year.

“The Terminal Accreditation Committee has recommended the said v-hire operation transfer” she said.

“Motabang lang ta because we want to make sure nga ang tanan sakto sa papeles. I-check sa sila sa CITOM if kompleto ba ilang requirements,”  Mercado added.

The v-hire operators agreed to the proposal from SM to transfer to its Seaside City at SRP.

“Wa man mi choice, pero mas maayo sad ang possibilities ngadto kay mohatag man sila namo og free shuttle nga makakuha mi og pasahero,” said v-hire operator Allan Jumuad.

“Mag-ocular inspection pa man mi didto and after ana duna mi mga information drive para sa pasahero kay lain man sad kaayo ug modiretso mi ug balhin,” he added.

He said the MyBus route will remain but they have requested for additional route to N. Bacalso Avenue. The association of v-hire operators also requested a free shuttle to fetch passengers from the South Bus Terminal to SM Seaside City Terminal.

SM Seaside City management has offered a parking area, loading, and unloading area for free within a period of two years.

The area can accommodate at least 200 vehicles.— (FREEMAN)
