Shenzhen Art Troupe in Manila shows

MANILA, Philippines – The Shenzhen Art Troupe, a group composed of top performing artists from Shenzhen City in Guangdong Province, China, will perform in Manila for the 16th Philippines-China Traditional Cultural Festival and 2016 Happy Chinese New Year Program today and tomorrow, Feb. 23.

Shenzhen Art Troupe’s performances will consist of Chinese folk music, acrobatics, dances and other art forms. The group has performed in European countries, USA, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

The Troupe’s performances are made possible through the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, City Government of Manila, Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), National Parks Development Committee and The Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino.

Today at 5 p.m. at the Chinese Garden, Rizal Park, the festival’s wide variety of activities will include photo exhibit, paper-cutting, riddle guessing, calligraphy and quiz games. It will be followed by the Shenzhen Art Troupe’s performance at the Concert at the Park auditorium, Rizal Park. Also performing at the show is the Universidad de Manila Dance Troupe. The festival is open to the public and admission is free.

On Feb. 23 at 7 p.m., the troupe will perform at the 2016 Happy Chinese New Year Program at The Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino. Admission is by invitation only.
