Marami pang retirees at elderly, mabibiyayaan ng trabaho sa Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines - Prayoridad ng Quezon City government na dagdagan pa ang bilang ng mga retirees at elderly na magta-trabaho sa lokal na pamahalaan sa ilalim ng volunteer work program.
Sa ilalim ng expansion plan, gagawin ni QC Mayor Herbert Bautista sa 1,000 ang bilang ng mga volunteers mula sa mga elderly at retirees upang patuloy na mapakinabangan ang kanilang kaalaman at tuloy maging produktibong mamamayan ng lungsod.
Sa ngayon, may 300 retirees ang nagtatrabaho sa lungsod bilang part-time basis na tutors sa mga public schools, caregivers sa mga health centers, value formation teachers sa mga day-care centers at bilang support staff sa city’s department of public order and safety para sa mga retired military at police officers.
“We should not be confined to just 300, the need to adopt more active programs for the city’s senior citizens for them to remain compe-titive and productive despite their age”pahayag ni Bautista.
Kaugnay nito, inatasan ni Bautista si city’s office for senior citizens affairs at senior adviser to the mayor Dr. Manuel Alba para makipag- ugnayan sa city’s social services development department para sa expansion ng city’s volunteer work program para sa mga senior citizens at retirees na may mga pagsasanay sa ibat’ ibang gawain.
